Tea Pot Construction

This is my tea pot construction. My tea pot constructions was challenging for me as well. As I went along and continue on fixing my tea pot construction I almost did give up likewise I wanted to start all over with a whole new design but time was consuming. So as the day went by I told myself to accept whatever is there and move along with what I had made, which I did and the outcome was not that bad for first starters exploring and experiencing the hands on skills with clay.

Slab Construction

This is my slab construction. I found this slab construction to be a bit challenging. First slab starts with a large amount of clay, and then laying it on the slab roller to roll it back and fro to get the same thickness in size that will be strong enough to hold itself up and not fold over. The trick to this to this technique is to let the slab piece dry out two to four days in a kitchen trash bag, after it stiffens up, it is easier to work with than it was wet clay. On the other hand I made templates, for me to use likewise cut and trace to a pattern that desires me. Lastly, after putting the slab together, I started to begin working with my slab and also tracing a sunflower on it, thanks to my brother who helped me out to draw it out on my slab that came out to be a vase, exactly how I wanted.

Coil Construction

This is my coil construction, First I started out with making coils making ten rolls of coils. I find that even this was challenging for me as a beginner. I made a base for the construction using the coil ext-ruder to make the rolls of coil stacked up on top of each other, then from there I blended the bottom until it was situated then on the other hand, I made hearts to decorate my pottery likewise turning it into a pencil or crayon holder for my daughter.

Double Pinch Pot Construction

This is my double pinch pot construction. I created two pinch pots of the same size and diameter,, sealed both of them with wet slip, and attached them together. I used the wooden tool to help blend it together. After, I used the scraper to make it smooth. On the other hand I made a foot base on this double pinch pot as shown in the picture. The outcome of my double pinch pot, it came out looking like a vase.

Pinch bowl construction

My first and foremost, pinch bowl construction. I started out from listening and following instructions from my professor, though the way he demonstrated it to us, was easy but when  we put our hands on skills it was pretty challenging for me, but I did make likewise made a pinch bowl construction.
